Preserving The Wild Soul Of Wales

We honor the philanthropic legacy of Fanny Talbot by protecting the natural heritage of Wales. Our work focuses on sticking to traditional welsh foods and methods we use in our practice.

Fanny Talbot (née Browne, 1824–1917) was a landowner and philanthropist known for her significant donation of Dinas Oleu, a 4.5-acre property in Barmouth, to the National Trust in 1895. This donation marked the first piece of land given to the National Trust, ensuring its protection for future generations.

Talbot was also a friend of the influential art critic John Ruskin and contributed to local philanthropic work after her husband's death in 1873. Her legacy continues through the preservation of Dinas Oleu, which is now a symbol of conservation and open spaces in Wales.
